A Dream Car from Middle Earth
Have you ever had one of those dreams where you’re a formula one driver? You know the kind. You’re right behind Schumacher going in to the last turn at Monza and the crowd’s cheering - of course being a dream you can actually hear the crowd over the roar of the engine.
It’s now or never, you have to make your move. You steer the car to the outside of the track. Schumacher’s on your right now and the corners fast approaching. It’s a risky move and if you make one mistake you’ll be kissing the wall at 200 miles per hour.
You change down at the last minute and cut sharply across the corner. The car begins to slide and you can feel the G forces pulling at the back wheels. The car wants to spin and all the laws of physics agree.
You steer out of the turn for all your worth and pray that the car will hold. The crowd holds their breath. You hold your breath…but wait, right in the middle of the most daring move ever attempted in a formula one race, suddenly ......you wake up!
That ‘dream’ is the closest most of us have ever got to being a formula one driver – until now.
